The New Space Race Will Be Lead By A Space Force

What does a country with over 700 military bases in over 130 countries do next? What could possibly be the last remaining Superpower’s next move having already conquered global dominance through its military might? An expansion, of course. This time the threat is inter-galaxy. Or is it interstellar? I better brush up on my, what use to be considered as Sci-Fi talk, because it looks like I may need to know the lingo now with America, or Earth, getting a Space Force! Yes, a Space Force. Remember our reactions when Newt Gingrich talked about the need for a Mars exploration during a Presidential debate? Well, President Donald Trump’s announcement Monday wasn’t that of expanding space exploration, or even a new mission to hopefully uncover new technology. Nope, the silliness of this administration hit a new laughable level with his revealing of a new “Space Force.” Continue reading “The New Space Race Will Be Lead By A Space Force”

The Growing Pains of a Third Party

Written by Michael D Jacobsen

For years many people have been disappointed in the two-party monopoly that has plagued modern politics. The corruption among both parties had come to a boiling point. The frustration with the two major parties began to find itself struggling over crucial issues relative to the party. After the 2012 Presidential Campaign and leading into 2016 election, voters started to leave the major parties and join a lesser known party called the Libertarian Party. The initial surge in growth of the party was fueled by Republicans who were fed up with how the party treated Ron Paul in 2012. New arrivals to the Libertarian Party also included Democrats who did not like how Bernie Sanders was treated in 2016. Of course, when these two groups try to unite under one banner, there are going to be some substantial ideological problems that will arise. I think most people who joined liked the idea of less military spending and less foreign policy by way of war. There are many issues that plenty of people who joined agree on regardless of what party they were with before. Continue reading “The Growing Pains of a Third Party”

The Revolutionary Knowledge Of Jury Nullification

It is a term which terrifies lawyers. A word which some of them as well as judges deny exists. Yet exist it does, the term is jury nullification. It is a long-held and fundamental right of the American people you will hear few talks of it. If you are selected for jury duty, there is an excellent chance that the team of attornies will disqualify you if you speak of it. People have been arrested outside of courthouses because they were informing people of what it is. Why is jury nullification a threat to the system if the purpose of the system in the first place is justice? The fair and impartial justice that is represented by the Lady Liberty Statue standing with a blindfold on showing no partiality to a side, just a focus on the truth. In her hands are the scales to bring balance and a sword in the other hand to represent fair punishment.

So what is jury nullification, and why is it such a seldom heard term in our vocabulary? Jury nullification is the acquitting of a defendant by a jury in disregard of the judge’s instructions and contrary to the jury’s findings of fact. In other words, if the jury feels the law itself is wrong, they can render a verdict of not guilty because they think the law itself is wrong. This is one of the greatest weapons we the people have against unjust laws.

The Growing Police State Perpetuates Police Brutality

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

Since the events of 9/11 most of us have noticed an increase in the amount of military gear our police forces have been using be it armor, weapon, or vehicles. To some it may seem like a normal reaction, but is it really? For the most part, the function of a police officer has not changed in decades. So why do we need ordinary officers roaming the streets with automatic weapons, in full body armor, and driving in re-purposed military vehicles?

Why have cities like New York and Chicago become to look more like an area under siege than a place where ordinary American citizens live? Has the American populace become that much of a threat that we need to be guarded against? Add to this the increasingly violent tactics the police have been trained to use and you begin to see a major problem, the police state has become bigger than we feared and its growth is getting out of control. The Identity Politics of the Social Justice Warrior

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

You have already seen it a thousand times. The person who thinks that their single issue should be able to trample over the rights of everyone else, and you are a racist/bigot/monster if you think otherwise. The even sadder part is that more and more people are agreeing with that person. Welcome to the era of the Social Justice Warrior.

The idea of being a Social Justice Warrior or SJW for short is not a new one. Nor is it necessarily a bad thing. There are many causes that a person can get involved in to advance a social issue. Gay rights, equality for men and women, preventing hatred against blacks are all worthy causes. Yet the problem lies in putting any of these over another person’s right to choose for themselves. The government can legislate many things, however, it cannot legislate behavior. The truth is, like it or not, that people have a right to prejudice no matter how distasteful it is.

TV- Rated PC For Politically Correct

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

I am about to tell you something that may blow your mind. Television is not politically correct.  You might think with the title I wrote and from some of the programs that you have seen in primetime that it is. But it really is not. Of course, most network executives may want you to think that it is. But when you look at all programming you see it really is not the case. There are plenty of off-color remarks but those are usually directed at conservative white people. You see the TV executives know that most white viewers will not get offended so they fill their series with as much non-PC material as they can. We Have Already Accepted 1984

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

It was a book that was supposed to warn us to the danger of allowing our government to grow too big. To warn us of allowing ourselves to be tracked and spied upon at every turn. To let us know the dire consequences of allowing it to happen if left unimpeded from the people. In short, it was a warning. Yet, we ignored it.

Not only have we allowed it to happen, but we make jokes about it in order to mask just how easily we allowed it to pass. You can’t tell me you have not heard at least a dozen jokes about the NSA listening to what you are saying. At least half a dozen about the TSA, my personal favorite is the shirt that has a person touching another’s genitals with the caption. It isn’t gay if its TSA. We have decided to make a joke of it rather than to confront that we passively rolled over and allowed it to happen. All while trying to delude ourselves into thinking that we have not.

If you do not believe me, please make sure your cell phone is right next to you so Big Brother can listen as you exclaim that you have not given in. I am sure that as they are listening to you through its microphone. They could use a good laugh at your expense.

Legalized Theft: Civil Asset Forfeiture

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

You have just had a great string of luck at the casino. You wanted to go back home with a wad of cash and just enjoy the fact that you are coming home a winner. Who wouldn’t, right? Sadly the rear brake light decided to go out during the trip. An officer notices and pulls you over. During the traffic stop, the officer casually inquires about what you were doing and where you are going? “I’m headed home, I just won a ton of cash at the casino! When I get home I am going to go back out and celebrate!”

That is as far as the good time lasted, because the officer, with no real probable cause, decided he should seize your money with zero evidence that you were doing anything wrong. Seems like fiction, does it not? Yet, this has been a reality to quite a few people. And instead of being a few isolated incidents, this is becoming more and more common. Crying Wolf: The Fear of Iran

By: Michael D. Jacobsen

Iran, a country whose name seems to be synonymous with terrorism. At least that is what the United States government wants its citizens to believe. Even before the events of 9/11 and, in fact since 1979 Iran has been considered a terrorist nation. But just how much of a threat is Iran to the United States?

Well, let us first look back to our first major involvement with Iran back in 1953. The CIA led a coup in Iran to overthrow the elected prime minister Mohammed Mossadegh and to replace him with a reinstalled Shah Pahlavi. This coup was known as Operation Ajax. The reason for the coup was because the government of Iran wanted to audit the documents of the Anglo-Iranian oil company(AIOC) later called British Petroleum and to limit its control over Iranian oil reserves.
