With so many firearms in America, the common census among the people is disbelief in the possibility of total disarmament. Why not, right? With a long and proud history of responsible gun ownership with many millions of Americans throughout her history, there is no reason to believe we should be without the right to bear arms. We have managed to secure that inalienable right over the deaths of many of our brave men and women that have fought on foreign lands to prevent the ideologies that threaten our way of life. Or so we are told.
Today the very same ideologies or agendas we have been at war against now seem to have permeated right here at home. The fight to keep and bear arms has always had some natural questioning or resistance against it but now the ideology of a disarmed populace is being shouted and rallied around more than ever. The left’s views have swung so far to the left on the firearms debate that they are bordering on the same mentality the 2nd amendment was included in the Bill of Rights to prevent. The right, however, is doing more than you might realize to help the left achieve their objective. All without fully understanding they are doing so. How the global elites are able to do this is on many fronts that include think tanks and secret societies all while owning the political outcomes of nations – including our Republic.
The Conservative right likes to point out how middle-America was fed up with the politics coming out of the Beltway and that disgust of Washington partisan politics is what made them choose the self-proclaimed “political outsider” when they cast their votes for Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. Now it is apparent just how much their fear of a Hillary Clinton presidency has blinded them to the fact that President Trump has infringed on the 2nd amendment already with his bump stock ban and now closes in on Red Flag laws. His base, collectively, has remained somewhat silent on the bump stock ban and is showing all signs of complacency when it comes to Red Flag laws. Ironically, it is his grassroots base that would be heavily impacted on the laws, should we see them fully passed and enforced. The waiting game is something we can’t afford to do with our inalienable right to keep and bear arms.
All around social media and even in our day to day lives we can see our government out of control and the radicalization of many people through dangerous ideologies and draconian agendas. The manufactured chaos we are seeing in all forms of the political spectrum is part of the Hegelian Dialectic and meant for us to turn to the government for the solutions. It is in fact, the government creating these problems with their sights set on disarming law-abiding citizens.
“Hell yes we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47…..We are not going to allow it to be used against fellow Americans anymore.” – Beto O’Rouke during a Democratic Presidential debate
Beto O’Rouke is the out-front spokesman for the Democrat’s overall views on guns and gun laws but the party as a whole has jumped at the chance to limit our access and freedom of choice in firearms. For example, Tulsi Gabbard, a Congresswoman and former United States military soldier who swore to protect and defend the constitutionally protected right to bear arms, has come out strong-armed and with many ideas that she wants to see implemented in “combating gun violence”. A few of her stances include closing the gun show loophole and a federal ban on “military-style” weapons. Other candidates among the Democratic party are pressing for more comprehensive background checks and any new foot-in-the-door policy they can muster up. It isn’t the Democratic party’s candidates I want to warn you of when discussing Red Flag laws. It is actually the sitting Republican President Trump.
“I like taking guns away early,…..take the guns first, go through due process second.” – President Trump
I have my own personal opinions about how I feel we were bamboozled by the controlling establishment with the “former” 30-year long New York Democrat Trump but I want to stay on the topic of the article which is the dangers of the Red Flag policy itself. Many states have their own versions of the law already on the books and some states are awaiting final legislation on the matter. As of August 2019, 17 states and the District of Columbia had enacted red flag laws. What President Trump and others are suggesting would be federal Red Flag laws and enforced regularly. Before we go any farther let’s define what Red Flags laws are so that we can continue on the same footing.
Red flag laws permit police or family members to ask a state court to order the temporary removal of all firearms from persons believed to present a danger to others or themselves. In deciding to issue such orders, known variously as Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) or Gun Violence Restraining Orders (GVROs), the courts consider the past actions and statements—including those posted on social media outlets—made by the gun owner in question. If the court decides to issue the order, the gun owner must surrender all firearms to the police for a specified period of time. In addition, the person named in the order is banned from buying or selling guns during that period.
Let’s for a minute suspend in our minds who is the president or party affiliations. Let’s instead focus on what effects the law would have and who would be affected by such laws. This is where my concern for the laws begin to manifest and the outcome doesn’t look promising.
One issue I have is where what we say on our social media accounts can come into play and be used when taking our firearms from us. So many of us on social media use the platforms we have to spread awareness of the political corruption we see daily. Though these are peaceful acts, our words and post can be used in determining whether or not we may be a “potential risk” in the future. With tensions high and intolerance towards each other at all-time highs, this would be a back-door approach to disarm many who hold their constitutional rights sacred.
If your mind wandered into thinking this is conspiratorial thinking then I ask you to think about how social media has used censorship against us in the form of banning us from the platform or just a removal of a post or status. Now, those same post and status’ would be used as “evidence” for confiscation without due process or explanation.
While we are in a “conspiracy” mindset, so to speak, I can’t help but think of the Tom Cruise blockbuster hit movie, “Minority Report” and its emphasis on “crime prevention”. If this sounds far-fetched, consider that the president recently called upon social media companies to collaborate with the Department of Justice to catch “red flags” using algorithmic technology. Under Red Flag laws we would have that same scenario being played out across America. Gun confiscation before due process just as mentioned from President Trump in the above quote.
The medical industry will be another under the table means of disarming many Americans. We have seen examples already on medical forms asking the patient if they are gun owners and even inquiring about the number of arms owned. Doctors are being told to make “assessments regarding patient’s health” as pre determiners for gun ownership. Coupled with the rise in patients leaving the mainstream medical care facilities for alternative methods of healthcare and this is a slippery slope for the government to intervene and confiscate the right. We know Big Pharma doesn’t like to lose customers and the threat of firearm ownership could keep many in that broken and controlled system.
Political indifference in a time of “see something say something” has been the most recited fear of the potential risk Red Flag laws bring. The fact that mere suspicion alone of another individual can be enough to have their firearms removed is a telling sign. Here we have the harm of expressing a political opinion that may be different than that of others being enough to raise alarm to some. As we saw during the Obama administration the President used the IRS agency to target Conservatives and those he disagreed with. Our political differences now could have more dire consequences and be used for political advancement or suppression.
The number of risks that these laws have is endless which is why we are seeing the push for them. There are an estimated 22,000 to 30,000 gun laws that exist on the books today. What we do not need is more overreach from the government, especially when our right to self-protection against the common thug or a tyrannical government is involved.
